Michèle Raymond is a Canadian politician. She currently serves as Halifax Atlantic's NDP MLA. A Halifax-area resident since 1963, she received degrees from Yale and Dalhousie in English and Law.
In her first attempt at political office, Raymond became MLA in 2003, replacing Robert Chisholm, who was stepping down from office. Raised in Jollimore, she was able to use the support of voters in Spryfield and Harrietsfield, in order to win the 2006 election.
Prior to becoming a politician, Raymond co-founded the Urban Farm Museum Society of Spryfield and has been part of a campaign to reactivate the Northwest Arm Ferry. She has volunteered with the Nova Scotia Museum and is the vice-president of the Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia and other heritage societies around Nova Scotia for which she was awarded the Queen's Jubilee Medal.
Raymond co-authored a book on the Northwest Arm. She has two teenage daughters.

Michele Raymond has also received critism for her neglect of small communities in her riding of Halifax Atlantic. Communities beyond Herring Cove have had their streets neglected since she came into office; they have yet to be repaved/repaired since her arrival in the Legislative Assembly. Also, and more importantly, these communities have been living without clean water. Very little is being done during her time in office.
