Mike Doyle is a fictional character played by Ricky Schroder, on the FOX television show 24. He serves as the new Director of Field Operations in the Los Angeles Counter Terrorist Unit after the death of Curtis Manning.

He was called by Bill Buchanan to lead a Special Operations team to assault the Russian Consulate and recover Jack Bauer and the Russian Consul in 6:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. in Day 6.
Doyle arrived at CTU from Fort Bragg. Prior to his arrival, he and Milo Pressman butted heads at CTU Denver and both characters make it very clear in the show. Its reason is unknown. Further information was hinted at by Nadia Yassir while she is being interrogated by Mike. She says he enjoys putting others through pain according to his file from CTU Denver, implying that he has a history of prisoner abuse.

Mike Doyle is portrayed as ruthless but also competent as said by Milo. He tends to exceed the scope of his authority as can be seen by the way he barks orders at the techies, who are Milo Pressman's subordinates and part of a separate department to Field Ops. He also has a short temper as can be seen when he grabs Morris O'Brian by the throat when he makes a snappish comment.
Ricky Schroder says that Mike is "consumed" by his job and protecting the country. "Everything else in (his) life has been put on hold. He has no personal life. He's ruthless. It doesn't matter who he hurts. It's just a means to an end."[1] He cares more about his work than personal relationships. Despite his relationship with Milo, Doyle alters his co-worker's computer records to remove evidence that Milo gave Nadia his security code so that CTU can work at its usual efficient rate.
It was also hinted at that Doyle had a troubled life when he quoted a line from the Qu'ran, and mentioned to Nadia that he also read "the Bible, the Upanishads...anything [he] could get [his] hands on."
