Miss.Dynamite is a printed comic, webcomic and Flash animation series initially created around December 1990 by Montreal illustrator Sirkowski, which follows freelance terrorist Eva Sirkowski and her bisexual assassin associate "Blackie" Chin on their "action packed, mostly weird" adventures.
The series' sexual and sadistic tongue-in-cheek humor has gained it a fair share of notoriety among webcomics. Because the series frequently skirts social taboos, it sometimes receives hate mail. Such hate mail is sometimes publicly shared through the website's blog and forum, where it is then frequently criticized and ridiculed by the series' fans.

[edit] Origins
[edit] Creator
Miss.Dynamite's creator is Sirkowski (pen name of Sébastien Fréchette), a freelance illustrator and resident of Montréal, Québec, Canada. He is a frequent attendee of comic book and press conventions in that region and elsewhere in North America.
An avowed Liberal and atheist, Mr. Fréchette is a long time contributor to The Liberal Avenger, a progressive blog. His writings are frequently cross posted to his Miss.Dynamite blog.
Mr. Fréchette is also commonly known for his work as a hentai illustrator. Some of his hentai work can be accessed at Sirkowski.com, Starship Titus.com (a hentai comic book series for which he serves as an artist), and elsewhere on the Web.
Mr. Fréchette is a rat enthusiast and used to have two as pets. However, one of them, Eva, currently passed away. The one which is currently still alive is named Blackie and they were named after "Miss Dynamite's" two main characters.
[edit] Creation
"Miss.Dynamite" was created in 1990 as a supporting character in several unfinished comics, although her name at the time was Iva Sauter. In 1993 she was renamed Catharina Eva Sirkowski, and became the main focus of the comic series that followed. Miss.Dynamite's middle name was supposed to remain the same, but because of a mistake from the author, Iva became Eva. Also, the family name Sirkowski was intended to have been a reference to Russian pioneer of aviation Igor Sikorsky, but was the victim of another typo.
[edit] Main characters
[edit] Eva Sirkowski
Also known as Miss.Dynamite. Although she is believed to be of Russian nationality by evidence of her surname, this assumption is hard to prove. She can speak English like a girl from Florida, but also manages to speak many languages without any English accent. She herself claims to be Russian-born and has a deep knowledge of that country's system, history, and culture. At times she acts as if she was the last true living Bolshevik, but considering her taste for wealth and hard-core capitalism, she's most likely pulling our leg.
[edit] Blackie Chin
Tanpopo "Blackie" Chin is of Japanese and Chinese descent and the only child of millionaire Mutsuhito Chin. When she was only six years old, her father was killed by Yoshi Hamaya, who then took control of the Chin Corporation. Fearing for her life, Blackie ran away and hid in the Sanya neighbourhood of Tokyo, where she grew up among junkies, prostitutes and pimps. It is unclear how and where she acquired her martial arts skills, but in her adolescence she endeavored to kill Yoshi Hamaya and reclaim her family's business and fortune. However, Yoshi seduced her and convinced her otherwise. Not keen on the idea of becoming a business woman, she relinquished her empire to Hamaya in exchange for a fat paycheck.

[edit] Comic
Miss.Dynamite started as an alternative comics series, which has been regularly published in MensuHell, an independent Canadian comics publication, for many years.
Four episodes of the original comic are available online:
- Color Special
- Episode One: Miss.Dynamite Live!
- Episode Two: Eva, Blackie, Mélodie and their friends
- Episode Three: The Bitch, The Lesbian and The Comrade
There are also three self printed anthology books, containing short Miss.Dynamite episodes and pin-ups by Sirkowski and other artists, and fan art:
- Miss.Dynamite Special Edition #1
- Faster, Dynamite! Kill! Kill! Volume 1
- Faster, Dynamite! Kill! Kill! Volume 2
[edit] Webcomic
In addition to the central comic, there is an erratically updated webcomic, called Dynamite Unlimited.
[edit] Animation
The original comics have spawned a series of animated shorts, which regularly gain high ratings at Newgrounds. Originally, at the end of each animation, the audience was given several alternatives to vote from that would determine what happened in the next episode, but this was discontinued in Miss.Dynamite XV.
