No useful content, constant vandalism target. Okay, just kidding. But I actually am serious about deleting the sandbox... or more specifically, I'd like to see the history of the sandbox get deleted, at least from time to time. I'm not suggesting that we wouldn't create the sandbox all over again right away... but if deleting the history of the sandbox could in any way save some storage, I think we should do it. Furthermore, this is one of the most active pages on wikipedia, so it has a VERY long history, and it seems to have never been deleted: [1]. This is one page where we definitely don't need to keep the history around. Note that I have not marked Wikipedia:Sandbox with the {{subst:mfd1}} tag, because I don't want to interfere with its functioning, because the bot would wipe it anyway, and because it's not like anyone watching the Sandbox would think it's for real, anyway. I don't mind if someone else feels the need to add it, though. Mangojuice^talk 15:40, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

• I'm inclined to think that because of the long history, it would make sense not to delete it. The load on the server caused by the deletion would probably outweigh the benefit of deleted revisions (which would still be retained in the database anyhow). So, keep.   • There's no way to delete the history off the database entirely? If that's the case, I'd have to agree with you. But if there is a way, and this is a good idea... the sooner it gets done, the sooner we can start deleting it every month or something and avoid a big strain all at once. • Speedy keep Okay, due to some additional feedback, it seems my idea won't work, so I withdraw the nomination. I still think in principle it's a good idea, but if it requires direct attention from the developers or something, it's not worth it. Mangojuice^talk 18:26, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
