Morris M. Estee

Morris M. Estee (November 23, 1833–1903) was a Republican politician from California.
As a lawyer, he worked in Sacramento from 1857 to 1859. He was elected in 1862 to the California State Assembly representing the 16th district. From 1863 to 1866 he was District Attorney for Sacramento and Sacramento County. He was speaker of the assembly from 1873-4 and in 1875, he was reelected to the State Assembly representing San Francisco (8th district).
Estee ran for Governor of California in 1878, but lost. He also had 2 failed attempts at becoming a U.S. Senator.
