Music technology

Music Technology is a term that refers to all forms of technology involved with the musical arts, in particular the use of electronic devices and computer software to facilitate playback, recording, composition, storage, performance, search and retrieval.
Taught in many colleges and universities today, the subject involves not only the creative aspect of music production and music performance, and so on; but also the technical, scientific aspects of the medium such as acoustic science, music psychology & sociology, music industry business practices and, in some cases, programming and electrical engineering.
