[edit] Admin coaching update

As far as I can see you are not currently assigned as a coach to anyone. Are OK to receive a new trainee? Petros471 22:06, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Your new trainee is Brazucs and your fellow coach is JzG. Once coaching has started please move the relevant entry in the coaching box up to 'Active'. As for how to do coaching: well different coaches have different methods. At any time of course your trainee can come to you for help with something, but you can also take a look at their contributions and see where they need to improve and/or ask them some questions/example scenarios. If your trainee is not that active you can always be assigned another one in addition. Let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers, Petros471 16:04, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Hey Mysekurity! Thanks for volunteering for the Admin coaching. I'm glad to be hooked up with great people like you and JzG :-) --Brazucs (TALK | CONTRIBS) 03:31, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi Mysekurity. As Brazucs isn't very active, are you ok to receive another trainee as well? Petros471 11:37, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. Your new trainee is Asterion and your fellow coach is Prodego. Enjoy! Petros471 17:32, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Hello again! What a coincidence. Prodego talk 17:53, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for introducing yourself. I just got back from holiday. I set up the subpage as advised by Petros471 and will try to start asking questions ASAP (later on this week). Cheers, E Asterion u talking to me? 20:34, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi Mysekurity, Sorry I have not been in touch for a while (I had a family wedding and a lot of real-life work going on). I will no longer be needing to take part on Admin Coaching. My RfA is actually ongoing after being nominated by User:FayssalF. Best wishes, Asteriontalk 01:27, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. Someone has to hold hip hop down, yanawwhutimsayin' Chubdub 23:33, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:BravoFunny

You may want to renominate this template for deletion. It no longer has any transclusions, and since its category was deleted, there's no point in it continuing to exist. Kelly Martin (talk) 14:00, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Cite web

I don't know how, but I think your most recent edit to Template:Cite web somehow messed things up. Please see Template Talk:Cite web and take a look. VegaDark 03:51, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

On second glance, even notes not using the cite web template are being affected so your edit may have just been coincidentally at the same time. You may want to take a look at it nonetheless. VegaDark 04:10, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music

Whats up? Hi, I'm trying to gather some more interest and support for the Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music. Please check out the topics and lets get our WikiProject to function better. Recently, I've taken an interest in the Wikipedia:WikiProject hip hop and I consider that WikiProject to be better developed. I am now writing to usernames on the hiphopWP who might be interested in helping with the punkmusicWP. Hopefully we can all work together to improve articles relating to punk as has been done well with hip hop. Finally, I am trying to gather support and opinions concerning the punk house article and specifically the Theta Beta Potata article which is currently in AfD (x2) at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Theta Beta Potata (second nomination). Please check it out and voice your opinion. Xsxex 09:14, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bexley Hall (disambiguation)

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Bexley Hall (disambiguation), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Bexley Hall (disambiguation). If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 18:49, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] user:217.168.172.202

You deleted the user page at that location in June 2006. Would you be able to undelete it? I'd like to know who posted the message to that user and at what time, and who blanked it afterwards. Since as a rule IP addresses don't have user pages (and blanked ones are confusing), after it is undeleted, it should probably be a redirect to the talk page. I just think that the history of that user is interesting - he/she seemingly made 5251 good edits between June and October 2002, all the while receiving only one message, and I think that message is interesting wikihistory. After all, if an unregistered user had that edit pattern now, their talk page would probably look something like User talk:68.39.174.238. :) Thanks, Graham87 03:35, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, that clears things up. Maybe it was a proxy server for the ISP in Malta (if that whois report is still accurate)), or a particularly committed user on a static IP. Anyway, it's interesting. Graham87 04:00, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Adult Children of Alcoholics

Hi, I just created the article Adult Children of Alcoholics, then saw on the "What links here" that it was on your "to-do" list to create this page...sorry! Not trying to take the wind out of your sails! It had been on my to-do list for a while and so I wanted to finally put something in text...um, I'm not sure what your vision was, and in fact, not sure what mine is yet, either. Change what you like, and if you'd like to collab., just drop me a line! TJ0513 18:36, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Esperanza Admin coaching - October 29 - Pending

You are receiving this message because you are currently listed as a coach in the 'Pending' section of the coaching box.

  • If the coaching has started and is ongoing please move the entry to the 'active' section of the box'.
  • If the coaching has finished/never going to start please add your trainee to the archived requests section of the archive, and remove the entry from the coaching box.
  • You can fill in information about your former students, at the main archive.
  • If the coaching is ongoing please continue :) This might serve as a useful reminder to check with your trainee if they have any new questions!
  • If you are ready to be assigned a new trainee, or have any other questions, please let me know on my talk page.

Thank you for helping with admin coaching! Highway Grammar Enforcer! 22:42, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hiya

Hey Mysekurity:

Just dropping by, checking in on my old friends and saying Hiya to those who are still around; drop me a line when you have a chance and fill me in on how things are going for you. It made me smile to see that you were still around. :) Essjay (Talk) 08:45, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] GiB vs. GB

I noticed on the iPod page that you have been changing "GB"'s to "GiB"s. According to the Gibibyte page, this means that you are implying that all of the iPods (and Zunes, though I don't know about their specifications) have precise capacities of x * 1,073,741,824 bytes, a fact that I know to be not true because hard drive suppliers skimp and give users 30 * 1,000,000,000 bytes. My iPod does not have the capacity to store a GiB value, but only a GB value. Apple's site says that "1GB = 1 billion bytes; actual formatted capacity less." noting the capacity of the iPods, which is measured there in GB, not GiB. It looks like you believe that your change is correcting a mistake, but from what I can see, you have added an error. Can you explain why you are changing GB references to GiB? I just want to make sure that this is correct. Thanks, Nihiltres 04:37, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Simpsons Hollywood Walk of Fame.jpg

Hi. The image Simpsons Hollywood Walk of Fame.jpg has an incorrect license. According to the tags already on the page it says that you need to have a specific fair use tag as well. The Simpsons article was recently up for FAC and this was mentioned as a reason for failing the article. Could you please fix this? --Maitch 15:07, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. I think it is correct now. Although I'm not a lawyer. --Maitch 22:43, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Change to Common.css

Per recent discussions, the way in which Persondata is viewed by Wikipedia editors has changed. In order to continue viewing Persondata in Wikipedia articles, please edit your user CSS file to display table.persondata rather than table.metadata. More specific instructions can be found on the Persondata page. --ShakingSpirittalk on behalf of Kaldari 01:34, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My Request for Adminship

Mysekurity

Thanks for your support on my successful Request for Adminship (final result 78 Support /0 Oppose / 1 Neutral) I have now been entrusted with the mop, bucket and keys. I will be slowly acclimating myself to my new tools over the next months. I am humbled by your kind support and would certainly welcome any feedback on my actions. Please do not hesitate to contact me. Once again, many thanks and happy new year! All the best, Asteriontalk 16:06, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Concerning your Admin Coaching assignments

Your name is still listed at Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Volunteers. The department is heavily backlogged with student's requests for coaches, and we need your help!

Note that the instructions may have changed since the last time you checked, and the department now follows a self-help process...

If you don't currently have a student, or if you believe you can handle another one, please select a student from the request list at Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Requests and contact them. See the instructions on Wikipedia:Admin coaching. Good luck.

If you are no longer available to coach, , please remove yourself from the volunteers list.

Thank you.

[edit] Admin Coaching

I gladly accept, and am glad to have heard back from you so quickly! I requested adminship today, but withdrew before the end of the day after it became clear that I wasn't going to pass. Hope to hear from you soon! Kntrabssi 03:43, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Well, I'd like to know what I can do to make myself more eligible to become and admin. I want to become an adming because I do a lot of work concerning vandalism and RC Patrolling. I seriously hope I didn't fail RfA because of my edit count. Lastly, what can I expect after becoming an Admin? What can I do to be a good admin? Basically, any general tips and pointers re: what I am doing now that I should do differently, what I should start doing to pass RfA, etc. Thanks again for your help!! Kntrabssi 03:55, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Thanks for your tips. I have participated in the Double Bass article, which was nominated for Featured Article, but failed. I took a lot of time off because I am currently in college at the University of Maine, and thus my post count hasn't been do high. I do contribute a bit, but my focus mainly is on vandalism stuff (I'd really like any vandalism tools you could give me). What is a wikimeetup? Where can I get on the mailing list? Thanks again for your help :) Kntrabssi 04:10, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
      • Hi again! I've currently been busy on here with WP:AIV, WP:AfD, and WP:RFPP. I have adopted Mike's Wiki Tool, which I LOVE, and am currently going through the process of being approved for VandalProof (it seems that I was not given access, but I was not told why. Hoping to hear back from them soon). I've been interested in running AWB, but I just can't seem to figure out how to use it! Could you give me a quick tutorial, just the basics, as to how I can use it? Thanks so much for your help :) Kntrabssi 05:28, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tupac's birth name

This has been discussed. The source is from an official Tupac book. Tupac Shakur Legacy. It is sourced License2Kill 04:23, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

It's in an official book released by his family. End of story. License2Kill 23:12, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

I think the best way for this debate to be resolved is for you, Mysekurity, to go to the library or book store and lookup the passage in question. If you are not satisfied, please take your specific objections to the Tupac talk page. --Flex (talk|contribs) 13:55, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Hi, I've added 6 sources (each reputable) to the article supporting that his name was LPC. They have already been removed twice (once by L2k) without any reason given. As an admin, could you please review these sources and certify them so that we can move beyond this? You might need access to lexis nexis to read the full test of the articles.Ocatecir Talk 00:13, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removing people from the list

Hi Mysekurity. Why'd you remove these people from the admin coaching request page? [1] --Fang Aili talk 14:19, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

I sent talk page messages to those three people before removing them. I really don't think admin coaching needs to be one-on-one, but if you feel otherwise, then I shall say something to the two people who have not yet responded to me. Kntrabssi is now my fourth (I think) trainee; all my previous ones stopped asking me for help, and didn't reply when I asked if they needed anything (or told me they didn't). I see no reason why there should be such a massive backlist. The other two who had not yet replied had left messages in October, which seems like a completely unreasonable amount of time to be left hanging. Something about this policy has to change. -Mysekurity 22:30, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Did those people say it was ok to remove them? If they still want coaches they should stay on the list. I know the backlog is huge but there's not a lot we can do about that. There are only so many coaches available. But if you have some ideas let me know.
Admin coaching, as far as I know, has always been one-on-one, or basically one-on-one (with maybe two admins coaching one coachee, or one admin taking two students at a time). Some months ago The Transhumanist tried to set up a larger "admin school" of sorts, but was shot down by the community. --Fang Aili talk
I kinda figured that since I had contacted them, I would remove them from the list (I guess I viewed it as a "to be contacted" page), but I will re-add them, if that's what should be done. I just feel that admin coaching can be much more effectively handled in a few-on-one situation, as there's no need for the admin to be constantly on call, etc. It's a nice idea in theory, but in practice, it creates backlogs for months, and doesn't take into account the fact that people aren't always communicating in real time. -Mysekurity 22:51, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you mean. How would you like the project run? --Fang Aili talk 16:00, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Interested in admin coaching

Yes, I'm still interested; I'd love it if you would coach me. Tell me where we get started! -- Cielomobile talk / contribs 02:25, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, first, I've always wanted to bring Homophony to FA status, but I'm not sure what to do next. The main issue is adding more content, but I am not a particular expert on the subject. What do you think are some of the best ways to improve such an article?
Second, I've never given much thought to adminship before (I've been an editor for a bit over a year now), but I was wondering what your thoughts on the program are. Are you satisfied with it, is it fulfulling? I'm not sure that I'd ever want to become an admin, but I'd like to learn from admins about their experiences.
That's all I can think of for the moment. -- Cielomobile talk / contribs 04:34, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
I've tried in the past to find experts to help with the article, but my efforts seem to have been in vain. Maybe I'll try it through WikiProject Music or the like. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts on adminship. I can definitely see where it'd be useful to get straight to the vandals and other mischief-makers without going through the beaurocracy. I recently had a sock puppetry case open for over a month before an admin got to it...backlogs are no fun. It seems like there need to be more admins performing certain tasks, while others are too heavily concentrated on. -- Cielomobile talk / contribs 05:51, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Also, what kind of tools would you recommend for fighting vandals? I've seen Popups and a host of others used, but I've mostly only fought vandals when I've come across them, so I never found the need for them. I'd like to make better use out of my time, though. -- Cielomobile talk / contribs 05:56, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] concern

user MJukmix has repeatedly altered the sales of makaveli the don killuminati and removing citian which has relaible source to the sales of the album as they are offical court documents he has not discussed it and keeps reverting the sales of the makaveli album. on the tupac shakur discography section and also the tupac shakur main article the offical court documents state that the album is 7x platinum selling 28 million world wide http://www.hitemup.com/tupac/lawsuit-agnant.html These court documents used in a case against Jacques "Haitian Jack" Agnant. after checking this users page i see he has been reverting this in the past and u had warned of reverting the sales could u please adress the issue and revert what he has done with the correct info on the album which is 7xplatnium as the OFFICAL court documents have stated. thank you -- Supreme euphanasia 13:25, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] song list

hey regarding the song list i changed it to posthumous instead of it being unreleasedlist as alot of the songs on that list have been release on soundtracks and on other rappers albums and to call that article unreleased list would be very misleading as alot of the songs are avalible on other artists albums and soundtracks -- Supreme euphanasia 07:05, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

lmao fuk if i know lol i just saw the article there and it was full of errors so i just fixed alot of it up i dont know why it would be an unreleased list if its go released songs on there. i never made the article and theres alot alot alot of fixing for that article. ive got a full list of tupac unreleased songs, rumored unreleased songs, guest apperances, and album song list but if i type it now cause it aint in word will take me a few days to make it which i think will be really good, what do u think we should do about the article? -- Supreme euphanasia 22:57, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

hey listen ill tell ya wat give me a few days ill do a proper article for it with all 2pac songs. it will be like this:

confirmed unreleased songs

rumored unreleased

guest appearances

soundtrack songs

what u think? -- Supreme euphanasia 23:04, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

not possible, alone the confirmed unreleased songs contain 344 songs -- Supreme euphanasia 23:20, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
