Newcastle Poetry Prize

The Newcastle Poetry Prize is an annual Australian award for poetry. It was established in 1981 as the Mattara Poetry Prize. In 1995 the Newcastle City Council rescued the award with a grant of $10000, and its name was changed to the Newcastle Poetry Prize.
