Nicolae Marius Dică (b. May 9, 1980 in Piteşti) is a Romanian football (soccer) attacking midfielder. He is very attack minded and has a good rate of scoring goals directly from free kicks.
[edit] Club career
Prior to joining Steaua Bucureşti in 2004, Dică played for Dacia Piteşti between 1998 and 2000, and FC Argeş Piteşti between 2000 and 2004. Steaua paid 250,000 Euros to sign him from Piteşti.
In September 13, 2006, he scored twice in the 4-1 away win against Dynamo Kiev in Steaua's opening game in the UEFA Champions League. Dică has been linked to English Priemership side Aston Villa in recent weeks but no bids have been made for him.
[edit] International career
Dică won 16 caps for Romania, scoring his first goal in August 2006 in a friendly against Cyprus. He was injured in a friendly in January of 2007 and is currently rehabing in Bologna, Italy. He is set to return in June of 2007 and continue his road to Champions' League with FC Steaua Bucuresti and qualifying for the 2008 Euro with the Romanian National Team. Dica's father passed away in March of 2007 due to cancer and that has inspired Dica to keep his football dreams alive.
