[edit] Needs some real material
This article is quite minimal, but starts to sketch out the Nirankari mission. Someone with more knowledge should expand on the history somewhat, and ideally also add to the articulation of beliefs of this group. I cleaned up the existing stuff, which was minimal and unforunately highly laden with personal opinion. I hope that this presentation gives the same information without bias or opinion. The comments removed that lauded the mission's ideals and the character of its leadership could be re-introduced as citations, but as they were, they were just plain old POV. --Christian Edward Gruber 02:10, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

2nd: What the Nirankaris believe in is no different from what the Prophets of world religions had taught and preached. All the prophets of world religions started spirtual movements and their intentions were not to create religions and divide people on the bases of religion. It was only after the prophets of world religions passed away that some followers of the prophets strayed away from the true message and started to make those spiritual movements into religions.
3rd: The information on the Punjab Insurgeny is not objective and the Indian Express Newsapaper quote is the personal opnion of the writer Sat Pal Baghi. On April 13, 1978 the Nirankari's did not instigate any violence but Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala had odered some of his followers to go to the Nirankari Satsang and massacre the Nirankaris. The men instigated by Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala came to the satsang carrying weapons intended for the use of killing Nirankaris. As some Nirankaris stepped up to defend themselves the police came in and the police started firing at Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala's men. The police shot at Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala's men to defend the Nirankaris. It was the police who shot and killed some of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala's men and the Nirankaris had nothing to do with the killings. I can say this because I had witnessed the entire event. The Nirankaris were not involved in any conspiracy with the congress government.It was the congress government who conspired with Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala inorder to create a rift between the Shromini Akali Dal and the Nirankaris. The congress was against the niranakris because when the congress came to the nirankaris for votes the nirankaris did not support the congress government but choose to support the Shromini Akali Dal instead. The Congress government could not take this so they hatched a plan along with Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala inorder to create a rift between the Akali Dal and the Nirankaris.
It was the congress government who was responsible for the rise of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala as they backed him up and when Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala got out of the Congress government's hand the Congress government branded him a militant. It is exactly like what happened with the United States backing up Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein against the Soveits and when the Soviet Union crashed then the USA turning against Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein and telling the world that Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein are rouge dictators or terrorists. Like the old indian saying goes: Hamari bili or humein he meow. (my catt and meowing at me.) That is exactly what the Congress government thought when Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala got out of their hands but before that the Congress and Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala were all together in their plan against the nirankaris.
So before going out and making subjective claims and statements we need to look at history objectivly and understand the motives of the historians in writting what they write because we all know people can be commisioned to write biased history.
Know the truth and study it before taking any sides. I have interest in history and recoomend everyone to not beleive in hearsay.
