Wikipedia:WikiProject Religion
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
WikiProject Religion aims primarily to organise and condense the series of articles on religion. It also seeks to ensure NPOV across articles related to religion. It is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page.

[edit] Scope
The scope of this project is all articles in the Category:Religion. Specifically, this project hopes to deal with all articles relating to the religious observances, rituals, and practices, the histories of such practices, and related biographical articles. (For articles dealing with the stories which often contribute to the development of such practices, please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Mythology.) However, given the existence of several projects covering specific areas of the category, we will be placing the majority of our attention in the following areas:
- (1) We will work to create, improve, and maintain those articles which deal with religion in a non-sectarian sense (God, theology, religion, etc.), as well as articles about specific religions which do not yet have projects which deal with them. This would include, but not be limited to, those listed on the List of religions, which do not clearly fall under the scope of any of the daughter projects below. As a rule-of-thumb guideline, this would include those faiths which have no existing projects and those articles whose content relates to at least three, non-overlapping, extant projects.
- (2) We will assist in the assessment of articles in the field of religion, particularly those articles which have not yet been assessed.
- (3) We will try to assist in the maintainance of the Portal:Religion and other religion-related portals.
[edit] To do
- Add all articles within the direct scope of this project to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Religion/Articles list by category.
- Check recent changes for recent changes to these articles.
- Check Category:Religion articles needing attention for any articles requiring immediate attention.
- Provide assessments listed under "Requesting an assessment", following the project standards.
- Improve current GA-class and A-class articles to FA standards so they may pass a featured article review.

- Badbilltucker 19:13, 13 November 2006 (UTC) - Primarily ancient religions, including speficially Indo-European and Semitic religions. Also have a better than average grasp of the mythology/religion of the ancient Celts (reasonable, considering my real given name is Arthur. No aardvark or Dudley Moore jokes, please.)
