"No Remorse" is the eighth track on Metallica's 1983 album Kill 'Em All. The song contains a variety of tempo changes and guitar riffs. It is popular in gaming circles for being the inspiration behind the first song of the first Doom game.
The song is about not feeling any remorse or regret during battle in war. It also explains that not helping those in need is as good as killing them "Like a loaded gun right at your face".
Interestingly, the song begins at a higher volume than most other songs from Kill 'Em All. Although at 2:48 when James is finishing the chorus repeat the sound cuts out for a split second and returns at a lower volume which is level with the rest of the album, but skipping most of the words "Another" and "Death".
[edit] Trivia
- In 2003, the song was covered by death metal band Cannibal Corpse on their Worm Infested EP.
- An uncredited MIDI version appeared in the 1993 computer game Doom on Episode 1, Map 1.[1]
