[edit] Boundaries
The constituency covers the north-western part of the City of Nottingham. Regarded as the most working-class part of the city, and a safe seat since World War II, Labour actually conspired to lose this seat in their disaster year of 1983 to the Conservatives, albeit narrowly, before regaining it in 1987 and holding on comfortably since.
