Rev. Joseph G. L. Moiba
A Sierra Leonean by birth and nationality, the Rev. Joseph G. L. Moiba earned his Higher Certificate of Proficiency in Pastoral Studies (HCPS), (1997), from the Sierra Leone Theological Hall (now College) and Church training Centre, Freetown, where he graduated both as the best HCPS graduate and best overall student.(1997). Afterwards, he worked as a Circuit Minister in Segbwema, for the Methodist Church Sierra Leone, and was later appointed as regional supervisor for peace and civic education in the eastern part of Sierra Leone up to the year 2000. He also holds a Diploma in Principles of Modern Management and another in Personnel Management and Industrial relations from the Cambridge International College UK.
He later left for Norway for further studies. He earned his Cand Mag(BA), PPU 1&2- Practical Pedagogical Education in KRL and Psychology and an MA in Christian Studies on the Thesis titled “The Son of Man- Again: the Two Main Schools of Thought and Their Use of Sources to Defend Their Positions”, from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology(NTNU) in Trondheim. The Rev Joseph G. L. Moiba Studied further at the Practical Theological Seminary, where he graduate with a PTE(Praktisk –Teologisk eksamen), and later at the Faculty of Theology, University of Oslo and was granted the right to use the academic title for the professional Degree of Candidatus Theologiae, from the University of Oslo. He is well known in Sierra Leone and Norway, where he has worked as an educator, theologian and priest, and as the first Black Superintendent Minister in the Norwegian State Church. The Rev Joseph G.L. Moiba was appointed as Director of Theological education by extension at the Sierra Leone Theological College and Church Training Centre in Freetown. He is presently working on his Ph.D on the thesis The Potential of Christian# Muslim Relations to foster peace, justice and development: The Case of Sierra Leone
His interests include reading, writing and publishing. He has published lots of articles and Journal. He is also a lover of sports, classical music and philosophy. He is married with two Children.
