O with diaeresis (majuscule:Ӧ, miniscule:ӧ) is a Cyrillic alphabet now used in the Kurdish, Altay, Khakass, Mari, Udmurt, and Komi languages. It should not be confused with the letter Ö.
[edit] Phonetic value
In Kurdish, it represents the close back rounded vowel /u/.
In Altay and Khakas, it represents the sound - close-mid front rounded vowel /ø/.
In Mari, it represent the sound as /œ/, the open-mid front rounded vowel.
In Komi, it represent the schwa /ə/.
