Obadiah Parker
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Obadiah Parker is a folk/pop band from Scottsdale, Arizona. The band is comprised of Mat Weddle, Jessie Young (piano/keyboards, trumpet, vocals), and Daniel Zehring (bass, vocals). Weddle, the singer and guitarist, has appeared in a highly acclaimed Youtube video playing an acoustic cover of Outkast's "Hey Ya". The band is currently without a record label.
Mat Weddle, Jessie Young, and Daniel Zehring met at a church in Scottsdale, Arizona before they were really musicians at all. In that setting, literally starting from scratch, they picked up their instruments and learned how to play together. Throughout High School they played concerts in churches and youth camps in Arizona and California, along with a short trip to Hungary. As they honed their individual talents, they formed an understanding about the music they made collectively and organically discovered a distinctive musical style.
