Hi, please add sources who can verify that the copyright owners allows anybody to use these photos for any purpose. The copyright owners/photographers should preferrably expressly allow anybody to use their photos. Photos with incomplete information may be deleted. Thuresson 14:44, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

- Used photos from 3arabiaPhoto site does not belong to them, certain ones are from Magazine Scans which they use, and tag as their own. I wish copyright owners would contact them, but IP laws and morality is not quite well held among such sites.
-
- Nancy Ajram's photo is expected to be owned by David Abdullah,
and source to his official site will be provided. Still, the copyright info wouldn't fit. (Pending)
-
- Regarding Amr's photo, it was found on one of Amr Diab's fan sites. My bad, didn't reference. But it was my first file to upload.

[edit] Re:Amr Diab's Album Cover
Those two images were deleted from Commons, where Fair use, which is the correct copyright tag for album covers, isn't allowed. Nonetheless, that license is permitted in this wiki, so maybe you can upload again on here, adding origin and the right template, of course. Have a look at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Media covers. Regards. AnnaP 19:36, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Omernos.jpg
Hi Omernos. you have to choose a correct license for this image. {{logo}} can only be used for logos of corporations or other organizations. Thank you. Mushroom (Talk) 11:46, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, Well I changed it to {{CopyrightedFreeUse}} -- I tried looking for better tags, but this was appropriate. I am awaiting for your reply Omernos
-
- Please use {{No rights reserved}} instead, since {{CopyrightedFreeUse}} is deprecated. Mushroom (Talk) 12:30, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Ahlam2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Ahlam2.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

[edit] Made in Medina
Hey, I was just wondering if you could take a look at the article for Made in Medina for me, because I cannot speak Arabic... I think it'd be best to provide the translations for the Arabic song titles, and to provide the song names in the original Arabic script. Thanks a lot, if you can hekp! Soviet Dolphin :)
[edit] Wikipedia:Wikiethics
Hi,
We started a proposal Wikipedia:Wikiethics to state the existing policies coherently and make suggestions on improving the editorial standards in Wiki. I thought you might be interested in contributing to that proposal.
Unfortunately, a pro-porn and pro-offense lobby is trying to make this proposal a failure. They unilaterally started an approval poll although almost no one including me believe that it is time for a vote, simply because the policy is not ready. It is not even written completely.
Editors who thinks that the policy needs to be improved rather than killed by an unfair poll at the beginning of the proposal, started another poll ('Do we really need a poll at this stage?') at the same time. The poll is vandalized for a while but it is stable now. A NO vote on this ('Do we really need a poll now?') poll will strengthen the position of the editors who are willing to improve the ethics policy further.
If you have concerns about the ethics and editorial standards in Wiki, please visit the page Wikipedia:Wikiethics with your suggestions on the policy. We have two subpages: Arguments and Sections. You might want to consider reviewing these pages as well...
Thanks in advance. Resid Gulerdem 22:10, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Artist related articles and their names
AA,
Ezayk? Since you make a lot of contributions to Arabic artist articles, I just wanted to point out that the last name of the artist, not the first name, should be used after the intro. so if you see that can you please fix it? I did some work on the Diab and Ajram articles and changed their references to their first name to their last names.
Thanks. Stoa 18:08, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Islam
Hi there, The Islam template is used in all Islam related articles and it carries an image of the mosque, if you take a close look at the other religion templates they all carry an icon that actually symbolizes the particular religion. The question is what symbolizes Islam? As a muslim you would agree that we cannot Idolize any symbol as sacred as it would be Shirk. So the next question is what kind of icon would correctly represent Islam and Muslims? It is undoubtedly the Shahada, because without it we wouldn't be muslims. So I have suggested to change the template image from a masjid to a Masjid with the Shahada in it. In order to have the image in the template I need build some consense, could you kindly visit the talk page (Template_talk:Islam) and make your suggestion, lets have the template change so it will correctly represent Islam. (You do not have to support it if you dont like it). thanks in advance. «₪Mÿš†íc₪» (T) 11:08, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Nemo-sharif.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Nemo-sharif.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Nawal Al Zoghbi
Thanks for the kind words re: the rewrite. Always nice to know that work is appreciated. I've said as much on the talk page of the article as well, but feel free to contribute to it with more info if you have it. I'm from Australia and only know Nawal through the "Toul 'Omry" song, so if there are facts I'm missing - and I know there are - go ahead and put them in the article. If you're concerned about not being able to express things clearly enough in English, just write it as well as you can and someone is bound to fix up the expression where necessary. You can even leave me a message asking me to do it if you want. BigHaz 10:17, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Indeed, it is a very good map. I was wondering if you would be willing to use the same technology to make a map for the 2006 Arab-Israeli conflict, as its current map is pretty messy looking. It could really give the article some clear context. ~Rangeley (talk) 22:57, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lebanon image
Hi, could you perhaps make a small change to the Lebanon image? As it is now it shows Beirut on the position of Sidon. Thanks! Junes 09:34, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gilgal Refiam / Rujm al-Hiri
Hello,
I've recently translated an article about Gilgal Refaim from the Hebrew wiki. In the heb article the arabic name was only written as a transcript (in hebrew letters). Could you add the name in Arabic alphabet? If could find any information about the origins of that name, that would be great (I'd do this myself, but I don't speak Arabic).
Thanks, okedem 08:39, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Omar Sharif
I've been doing some work on articles related to Arab cultures, particularly Nourhanne (saved it from deletion), Nadia Lufti (created), and just starting work on the stub Faten Hamama.
While working on the latter, I found a number of things in Omar Sharif that needed updating, much of which I've done. But there are a couple things where I'm shy without an Arab's input.
1. I've changed the spelling of Sharif's Arabic name to "al-Sharif" rather than "El-Sharif." Google searches show "al-Sharif" to be in far greater usage. Let me know if you see this as a problem.
2. Recent news reports in arabic accusing Sharif of Zionism should be brought into the article, but I'm reluctant to do this on my own because of POV issues. Perhaps we can have some discussion on the talk page of how to incorporate this?
thanks in advance. Bustter 21:49, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Contributions
I add spaces to make the articles easier to be edited. There is no unified system regarding spaces in Wikipedia. Some articles leave spaces, others don't. However, since you object, I will stop doing this.
About Elissa's article, I restored the discussion page. The article is now allright. I think that this mistake occured by accident. Thank you for your kind advice.

Thanks for uploading Image:Omar sharif lawrence.jpg. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

[edit] Image:Shereen laha.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Shereen laha.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok ☠ 16:24, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
