The Partido Galeguista (Galicianist Party in English) was a Galician party founded in 1978, callig him the historical inheritor of the Partido Galeguista of the Second Spanish Republic.

After the electoral failure of the coalition of the Galician People´s Party and the Galician Social-Democratic Party, some people decided to found another time the Partido Galeguista convoking a Constituent Assembly in November of 1978.
To the general and autonomic elections of 1979 he entered in the coalition Unidade Galega and he support the positive vote in the referendum of the Statute of 1980. In the assembly of June of 1981, the PG turned to the right-wing ideologies, and Álvarez Gándara was choosed as presidente, who expelled the left-wing sector liderated by Luís Sobrado. In the Autonomic elections of 1981 it obtained 32.623 votes (3'23%), and in the municipal elections of 1983 it only obtained 10.752 votes.
In the extraordinary assembly of February 1984 many militants supported the integration in Coalición Galega. After this action, Manuel Beiras left the party and founded the Partido Galeguista (Nationalist)
