[edit] Transwiki
Rather than remove the transwiki notice, perhaps it should be reworded to state that all eligible images be moved. All the PD stuff should go. --evrik (talk) 13:11, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- Nevertheless, it is against common practice to include the transwiki template within PD templates. No other PD templates have the transwiki notice embedded in them since many images are tagged incorrectly. --Tom (talk - email) 17:28, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- It is not the practice on this language, other wiki language versions do it. Besides, this isn't a PD remplate anymore, it is now deprecated. --evrik (talk) 20:41, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Bot action
There are more than 500 images using this deprecated template. Should we have a bot go through and change the template to {{LOC-image}}? What's to be done with the copyright notice? Should it be changed to something like {{PD}} and we'll figure out what's right and wrong later? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Evrik (talk • contribs) 13:16, 27 March 2007 (UTC).
- I'd say that it's best to leave the templates intact until every image can be individually analyzed to determine if it PD or not. Not all free-use images from the LOC are PD anyways. One such example would be the 9/11 "unattributed" photograph collection, which is copyrighted with all rights released, except for attribution (see Image:LOC unattributed Ground Zero photos, September 11, 2001 - item 111.jpg). Not all images are linked to the LOC site properly as well, and many are low-resolution versions of higher resolution TIFF files. Most of these photos really need an editor's devoted eye for at least a minute or so each, and I'm not sure if a bot can handle it. --Tom (talk - email) 17:26, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
