Pelle Nilsson
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Per «Pelle» Nilsson (born September 15, 1982 in Härnösand, Sweden), is a Swedish footballer. He plays in central defence, and his current club is Odd Grenland of the Norwegian tippeligaen, which he joined prior to the 2005 season for approximately 3 million Norwegian kroner, becoming the clubs record purchase. He enjoyed a very good 2006 season, and ended up having the highest average rating of any tippeligaen player in newspaper Verdens Gangs season ranking.
In August 2006, Odd Grenland rejected a £1 million offer from English Football League Championship side Sunderland AFC, and he was widely expected to leave for a bigger club after the Norwegian season came to an end in November. However, no bids came in during the January 2007 transfer window, and Nilsson looks set to start the 2007 season with Odd Grenland.
