Kniksen award (Norwegian: Kniksenprisen)

Established in 1990, the award acclaims the best players in the Norwegian football premiership. The award is named after the legendary Norwegian football player Roald Jensen, nicknamed "Kniksen".

A jury composed of players, leaders, coaches and officials in the Tippeligaen, nominates and choose the winners in each category. The categories are:
- Goalie of the year,
- Defender of the year,
- Midfielder of the year,
- Striker of the year,
- Coach of the year
- Referee of the year
- In 2006, theese categories are also awarded: Young player of the year, and Adeccoliga-player of the year
- All the nominees must play in the Norwegian Premier League The players nationality does not matter.

Kniksen of the year
Best Norwegian player of the year. The player can play abroad, as well as in Norway
Kniksen's honour award
Awarded to a person or a team, who have made a special effort in, or for Norwegian football. Kniksen's honour award was replaced by the Sport Galla honour award in 2005, which hounors persons who have made a special effort in, or for all Norwegian sports.
The main awards are given away at the Norwegian Sport Galla on Hamar in January
