Category:People buried in unmarked graves
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
People buried in unmarked or otherwise secret graves. Sometimes this practice is to preserve a corpse from defilement or the site from exposure to unwanted publicity; in other cases, particularly in the case of genocide or murder, the secret nature of the grave is itself a further disgrace. Sometimes, this is simply a "pauper's grave" or "communal grave" where no marker could be made.
Another type of unmarked grave is a burial at sea.
This category is not to commemorate those whose remains are lost or whose graves have disappeared. This is instead a list of those whose graves were intentionally unmarked, secret, left unknown, or deliberately erased.
