- Since there are 10-12 pitches, I personally prefer the independent list, rather than listing all of them within the body of the article, which should be more fluent. As it is, the article misses 6-8 pitches. I also think the pitches themselves are independently interesting enough to warrant being divorced somewhat from an vague overview on what pitching is. -- Matty j 05:21, Mar 9, 2004 (UTC)

What was that really slow pitch that Whitey Ford used to throw that was kind of a lob? I tried to look it up on the Wikipedia, but no luck. I apologize if asking this question here is poor form of some sort, but it's really starting to bother me. Qdogg 00:21, May 4, 2005

[edit] Pictures of pitches
It strikes me that it would be useful to have pictures of how all these pitches are held. Is anyone able to take pictures of themselves doing this before I search for pictures of questionable copyright? (It might also be useful to diagram how these pitches move through the strike zone, but probably not.) — Adam Conover † 03:21, Jun 9, 2004 (UTC)
- There are pictures of some of the pitches in the actual pitches lists. Not all of them have images, but some of them do. They are images showing the grip, but these are very helpful.
- Diagrams showing the ball rotation from the pitcher's point of vue would be also very useful; most breaking balls use rotation to achieve their breakinness

I think we should combine each type of pitch with it's main aritcle, that way we don't have 20 2-3 paragragh articles, just 3 or 4 concise ones. --Jonathan 05:20, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
