PortConMaine is an annual three-day anime convention held in the summer in South Portland, Maine. It hosts many anime and gaming events such as anime screenings, an anime music video contest, a masquerade, guest panels, workshops, game tournaments, a dealers' room, an auction, and PortConMaine's signature "Extreme Geek" event.[2]
PortConMaine's staff members are very fond of pie. "It's all about the pie" is a common mantra for staff members.[3]

PortConMaine 2002 was held in Portland, Maine at the University of Southern Maine from April 19th through 21st. 250 people attended.[4]

PortConMaine 2005 moved to the Sheraton South Portland Hotel in South Portland.[7] It took place June 24th through 26th. There were an estimated 1,100 paid attendees (and 1,170 people total).[8][9]
The convention adopted a ninjas theme for 2005.[1]

PortConMaine 2006 was held at the Sheraton South Portland Hotel in South Portland from June 30th through July 2nd, 2006.[10]
The convention adopted a pirates theme for 2006.[1] PortConMaine 2006 featured the convention's first concert conducted by Lisa Furukawa with performances on both Friday and Saturday. Saturday afternoon's masquerade shocked regular attendees when Nami, who had hosted the event for the previous three years and many were told was unable to attend, appeared on stage as the masquerade began.[2]
