Talk:Radeon R300
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This page is part of my ATI cleanup, and grouping technology by core, along the lines the NVIDIA pages are divided. Timharwoodx 17:50, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
The model overview table should be moved to the general Radeon page. xerces8 --86.61.47.221 21:17, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
- Nah that would just be way too much information for that single page. Every generational page has its own table and it would just add up to be monstrous.--Swaaye 06:21, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Overheating and failures
High-clocked chips with R300 core have short lifespan. Reports from various bulletin boards claim that those cards permanently fail after approximately 2 years of use.[citation needed]
I added a {{fact}} to the preceding, but then I decided to remove it because I dislike FUD. I'm putting it here so that if anyone wants to substantiate this claim, they can put it back with a citation rather that just reverting. Simon80 20:23, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
ITs true i had a 9700TX (Dell OEM) that died after about 2 years Candle 86 03:30, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Update
This Page is in need of update, as many new models have been introduced along the X**00 line In both Mobility and Normal settings.
- No it isn't. Wrong family. Xxxx is R520 series.
[edit] RV370
This is a great page, informative and well organized. I did notice, however, that the RV370 appears in the table, but its distinction from the RV380 is never addressed in the text of the article. MaxEnt 18:15, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- RV370 = RV360 in 110nm without Low-K (easier and cheaper to produce, Low-End products); RV380 = RV370 with native PCIe interface --Denniss 00:09, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AGP
Let's add a column to the table about AGP version supported by R300 chips. Alecv 21:35, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Nah... All of them are AGP 8X except for the PCIe boards and that's already displayed. The table is already too wide.--Swaaye 00:58, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
