Rage of the Dragons is a fighting game by Evoga and Playmore. Evoga did the planning, designing and testing, but graphics, sound and program code was done by Noise Factory in Japan. It was first developed as a sequel to the Neo-Geo game Double Dragon (1995), but due to licensing issues, Rage of the Dragons is not an official Double Dragon game. Instead of featuring Billy and Jimmy Lee, the stars here are Billy and Jimmy Lewis. Abobo became Abubo and Marion became Mariah. The game works more like an alternate version rather than a proper sequel.
[edit] Gameplay
Rage of the Dragons features tag team gameplay, this is a team of two characters that can be switched during the battle. The one that is not being used has his energy slowly regenerated. Also, there are special combos that make both characters attack at the same time, causing heavy damage to the opponent.
Each character is assigned an official partner. However, the game allows a player to pick any combination of characters. It is important to note that you will not view a canon ending unless you use a character combination that the game suggests.
During a fight, there is an auxiliary meter located at the bottom of the screen that slowly fills up when an attack connects with an opponent. When the meter is full, special moves can be performed (Ex: Counter Attacks, Super Moves, etc).
The game features fourteen playable characters and two bosses.
