The Rantaseppä-Helenius Farmyard Observatory was built in Kevola, Paimio, Finland in 1963 for Hilkka Rantaseppä-Helenius a student of astronomy.
The telescope was a zenith tube telescope mounted in the open air. A similar arrangement had been employed at the Tuorla Observatory. The telescope was not moved, but viewed the stars as they passed through the zenith.
In 1969 a refracting telescope was added from the Iso-Heikkilä Observatory.
