RASHID is a well known, Hip Hop artist from Thokoza township in Johannesburg, South Africa. His mostly known for his break-out free approach for influencing the youth to join the Hip Hop movement. Thokoza is a slum suburb created by the former apartheid government as a means of segregating the native black people from the white people. This disenfrenchised past has served as a source of insperation and drive for his musical content.

Rashid began MCeeing at the tender age of 12. His most influence back them were the prominent black pop musiceans, which included the like's of Sipho Hotstick Mabuse, Lucky Dube and Chico. During the mid-nities a new youth sound started emerging from the gritty clubs of downtown johannesburg hillbrow the distant sheebins of SOWETO. At this time the black youths began seizing their unwritten path into history by creating their own sound. New young artist's began emerging out of the scene to spark a new genre of music. The like of arther (COE of 999 music), mdu tsikitsiki iyo, and kwaito became the youth sound. During this time Rashid was just like any other teen and started entry the teen show's and talent events hosted by local promoters.

Background: Rashid ( Mduduzi Khumalo) is prominent hip-hop artist from Thokoza Township, East Rand Johannesburg. He started music at the tender age of 12. He has been an opening artist for his uncle (mbanqhanga) group. In the people sweltering taxi ranks and street corners of Johannesburg. In his older part of his teen years he started rising up as a recognized hip-hop artist from the lee-club Johannesburg dynasty. The young rappers from the lee-club era included the likes of AMU, SELWYN, PROKID,SKWATTA KAMP and other artist how are still prominent in the circles of local hip-hop.Rashid has worked with the like of hidden force, Infa from skwatta kamp,Aba of abashante and the leading lady from skwatta kamp Relo.
1.4 Achievements:
1.4.1 Rashid took 1st prize on Wicks rap competition in Soweto hosted by Bob Mabena.

1.5 The underground release albums. Unground releases are not foreign phenominon in South African Hip-Hop. Rashid has about two underground releases that have kept the consumers asking more from the artists. These albums are The tale of two cities and the Kotes Mixtapes.
| 1.6 Rashid the person. Rashid’s sense of faith is deeply aligned with the islamic faith. He is not a self confesed muslin, but his personal way of life is through the manner in which the great prophet Muhamood. Would like everyone to live life.
