Talk:Raymond E. Shaw Elementary School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Just wanted to comment on the history of the grade structure at Shaw. I attended the Millbury Public Schools between 1975 and 1984. During that period, Millbury High School had grades 9-12, Shaw had grades 6-8, Elmwood had grades 3-5, and grades K-2 were split among two or three smaller schools that are now closed (Center School, Dorothy Manor School, and Providence Street School [Providence closed in the late '70s, the other two in 1984]), depending on what part of the town you lived in. I don't know the exact details of what happened after 1984, but the grade organization stucture described on the page as having existed for "more than 25 years" through 2001 came into existence no earlier than 1984.
