The in USA, regulations for indoor tanning salons or other businesses that commercially sell indoor tanning services are written at the individual state level, and in some cases, at the city or county level. The sale, manufacture, importation or certification of tanning equipment (or any other radiological device) is regulated by the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration).
