Sockpuppet activity is strongly suspected, and evidenced by CU run on en.Wikibooks this morning. A follow-up showed that the IP he uses on wikibooks has also created spambot-type (w/forum/index) pages here on wikipedia (I won't name the IP here, but obviously you can see for yourself). This user recently failed a Wikipedia RfA with some suspicion of sockpuppetry, though as far as I know no CU was run. We are considering IP block on Wikibooks, but would be interested to see results here. I have checkuser on wb, so please feel free to email me if you have further questions. --SB_Johnny|talk|books 13:25, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

- BTW, if you do email me, please also leave a confirmation note on my talk page here so I can be sure of your identity. I am b:User:SBJohnny. --SB_Johnny|talk|books 15:44, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'm one of the users who's suspected sockpuppetry since day 1 (and stated so in his RFA). This is probably too stale but some of us have suspected a link to TheM62Manchester (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) because of a love for templates, especially related to banned users, a love for car articles and a love for articles on UK-related locations. Also of note is that SunStar Net added this to Gold-Horn's talk page (and added {{indefblockeduser}} to Gold-Horn's user page at the same time which has since been deleted). This all happened within the first few weeks of being on Wikipedia. Why is this interesting and of note? Gold-Horn was blocked as a sock of TheM62Manchester as well as a litany of other socks that are all operated by, presumably, the same person.
- I fully support a checkuser check on this user, especially if a checkuser from another project finds a reason to support it. Metros232 14:16, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- I've added a bunch of the previous socks to the top of this. I think they're probably all stale by now, but I added them just in case. Metros232 20:23, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- I am not a sockpuppet of anyone. --sunstar nettalk 20:00, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Clerk note: Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/TheM62Manchester is related to this request. Checkusers, please also note Thatcher's comments right at the bottom. Cheers, Daniel.Bryant 21:55, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- I have left Wikipedia now, see my user page. I will not be returning, sadly. --sunstar nettalk 22:16, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Unrelated. No useful information from stale users; only relative of SunStar Net is User:1qx, who says right out he's a friend. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 00:26, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
