From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (abbreviated RMV) is a transport association in the German state of Hesse, centered around Frankfurt am Main. Its head office is located at Hofheim im Taunus. It currently is the second largest transport association in terms of area covered (after the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg) and was the largest in the world at the time of its foundation in 1995.
The RMV is operated by 15 counties, 11 independent cities and the Bundesland of Hesse. Its area covers large parts of Southern Hesse, Central Hesse and parts of Eastern Hesse. The Frankfurter Verkehrsverbund (FVV), covering the Rhine-Main area, was incorporated into the RMV.
The Rhein-Main S-Bahn network is subject to RMV tariffs.
