[edit] Brief History
Robert Newcomb traveled widely in his youth as a member of the American Institute for Foreign Study. He studyed both at the University of Southampton, England, and also aboard a university sponsored cruise ship as it circled the Mediterranean. After graduating from Colgate University, he enjoyed a successful career in business serving as chairman of his industry-related consulting group. Upon selling his business and moving from upstate New York to Florida, he was able to finally devote his full attention to something he had always wanted to do - write a book.
The end result was his first novel - an epic fantasy entitled The Fifth Sorceress. Upon securing the services of a literary agent, the novel was quickly sold in a hotly contested auction as part of a three book deal to Random House / Balantine Publishers, for what is believed to be the largest single first time fantasy author's contract ever. The Fifth Sorceress was published June 2002. The resulting saga of ongoing books is entitled The Chronicles of Blood and Stone, where The Gates of Dawn was published June 2003 and The Scrolls of the Ancients, the third book in the epic series, has been published June 2004.
[edit] Current Works
Savage Messiah, the fourth book, is currently available in bookstores everywhere. The fifth book, A March Into Darkness, has been written and will be released in January 2007. Rob is currently hard at work on the sixth book in the series, tentatively titled The League of Whispers.
