From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Roger Chang was a segment producer and on-air contributor for TechTV. He appeared regularly on Call for Help, and sometimes filled in for host Leo Laporte. Roger left the gaming website GameSpot in late 2005. Now, he frequently appears on This Week in Tech, and is a producer and camera operator for DL.TV.
In late 2004, an early pre-alpha version of ScopeTech, a technology opinion website created by Dan Huard with Chang and Robert Padbury, was created. The website was officially launched in early 2005. It features articles from the site's columnists, which, among others, include former TechTV personalities. The website is also used as an interactive community for technology enthusiasts. Chang also has begun making appearances on the popular podcast This Week in Tech as of 2005 and operates the camera for DL.TV. Roger no longer makes writing contributions to ScopeTech.
Roger also co-hosts a podcast with Tom Merritt, East Meets West, which deal with various topics such as sports, technology, and politics. Roger appears on the weekly technology podcast from Ziff Davis media called Whats New Now hosted by Jim Louderback.
A very well known quote of his used by the company UCMore is “I started using it two days ago and I can't stop using it," which he complains was taken out of context by the Google Adsense advertising system. He explained in an episode of TWiT that the quote is misleading since it was taken from an episode of Call for Help that aired several years ago.
According to Leo Laporte, Roger reads Jane's when he goes to bed, and therefore has a grand knowledge across many fields of politics, society, history. Patrick Norton once stated that you could win money in bar-trivia games with Roger.
