Rotoroa Island
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rotoroa Island covers 82 hectares and lies east of Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand. Since 1908, along with nearby Pakatoa Island, it has been privately owned by the Salvation Army and an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility for men was located at Home Bay. This treatment facility was closed in 2005, and after nearly a century of restricted public access, the island will again become open to the public.
