Roy Mayorga

Roy "Maurice" Mayorga, (born April 6, 1970 in New York City, New York) is the drummer for the Hard Rock band Stone Sour.

Previous stints under the drummer's belt include spells within Thorn, and as the original drummer for Brazilian metal band Soulfly. Prior to joining Soulfy, he also played with New York Hardcore band Shelter in 1996.
In 2004 he help create metal band ABLOOM as long as his two other members from Soulfly, and 2 members from Snot. The band is currently on hiatus but are looking to start up again in the near future.
In 2005 he appeared as one of the drummers on the Roadrunner United compilation CD, The All-Star Sessions, playing on "The Enemy", "The End" and "Baptized in the Redemption", all tracks being produced and musically written by ex-Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares. "The End" spawned a music video.
Mayorga temporarily filled in behind the drumkit for Sepultura's 2006 European tour with In Flames following Igor Cavalera's absence.
He officially joined Stone Sour on May 10th, 2006 as a replacement for Joel Ekman. He drummed for their sophomore release, Come What(ever) May, released August 1st.
Roy is endorsed by DW (Drum Workshop) and Zildjian Cymbals.
