San Pedro de Macorís

San Pedro de Macorís is a port city in the Dominican Republic, the capital of San Pedro de Macorís Province, and home of the Universidad Central del Este.
It is best known for producing many well-known Major League Baseball players, such as Joaquín Andújar, George Bell, Robinson Canó, Héctor Carrasco, Rico Carty, Luis Castillo, Jesús Colome, Mariano Duncan, Tony Fernández, Pedro Guerrero, José Jiménez, Josias Manzanillo, Guillermo Mota, José Offerman, Rafael Ramírez, Juan Samuel, Julio Santana, Alfonso Soriano, Sammy Sosa, Fernando Tatis, [Salomón Torres]] and José Valverde. The city is home to the Estrellas Orientales, who play at the Estadio Tetelo Vargas.
