Sandman as a concept may refer to:

• The Sandman (folklore), a figure who brings good sleep and dreams by sprinkling magic sand onto sleeping children; also used as a symbol of the passage of time to death
• A sandman, in the science-fiction book, film and television series Logan's Run, is an "enforcer" who chases down people attempting to escape from mandatory euthanasia at age 30; exemplified by title character (Logan)
• Sandmen, in the campaign setting Dark•Matter for the roleplaying game Alternity, are an organization made up of parasites who take over human bodies and "cure" them of the "human disease".
• Also a figure who will sprinkle sand into a child's eyes and then take the child's eyes out of their sockets to feed to his moon-children if the child is not asleep when they should be.
