Sandwich Bay

Sandwich Bay grid reference TR354617 is a coastal area of Kent, England.
The site has been designated as a Special Area of Conservation for its nature conservation interest.
The site consists of tidal rivers/estuaries with associated mud and sand flats and lagoons, saltmarsh, sand-dune habitats and marshes.
The Southern Emerald damselfly was found here in 2003, only the second site in Britain at which it had occurred (Forrest 2005).
The bay is home to Monk's Wall nature reserve and a bird observatory.
