Sandymount swimming baths
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sandymount swimming baths were built (1882-1884) by the Merrion Promenade Pier and Baths company on Sandymount Strand. The concrete swimming baths were built first and measured 150 square feet (approximately 13.9 square metres). The 55 metre pier was completed in 1883-1884.
After thirty years the swimming baths were in a state of disrepair and the pier was eventually demolished in 1920. The concrete section, which resembles a small harbour, remains.
