Sarah Greene (born 24 October 1958, in London, England) is a British television presenter, probably most famous for presenting the popular children's television show Blue Peter, from 19th May 1980 until 27th June 1983.
After leaving Blue Peter, she went on to present Saturday Superstore alongside Mike Read; she then co-presented Going Live!, alongside Phillip Schofield.
Disaster struck for her and partner Mike Smith on September 10, 1988, when the helicopter Smith was piloting crashed in Gloucestershire, with Greene on board. She broke an arm and both of her legs, although returned to present Going Live! while still in plaster. She and Smith became engaged weeks after the accident, and married in 1989.[1]
As well as presenting, Greene has also done lots of acting work in programmes such as Doctor Who (in the story "Attack of the Cybermen"), Casualty and French & Saunders. In 1992, she combined both of her talents in a spoof paranormal programme called Ghostwatch, alongside her husband Mike Smith and chat-show host Michael Parkinson.
Greene and Smith even made a foray into feature films when they turned up in The Man Who Knew Too Little (1997) starring Bill Murray, playing presenters of The Theatre Of Life, a fictional show which promises the participant a character in a crime drama.
More recently, Greene appeared in the ITV programme Have I Been Here Before? and is also a regular presenter on This Morning.
Sarah is now seen annually on Discovery Home & Health's Weddings Live which is a 6-hour wedding extravaganza - showcasing several weddings live from across the country. She has presented the programme on location for the last 2 years and is scheduled to do so again in the first week of June. She presesnted the programme in 2006 from Vineet & Leona's wedding location at Heatherden Hall in Pinewood Studios, Iver, Buckinghamshire alongside fellow TV presenter Brendan Courtney alongside other celebrity stylists etc such as Armand Beasley.
