[edit] Philippines
In the Philippines, it is considered as the number one root beer brand in the market. It replaced Barq's in most fast food chains as it and Sarsi, then owned by Cosmos Bottling Corporation (owned by the RFM corporation),are now both owned by Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc., a division of San Miguel Corporation. Its main competitors are Barq's from SMC and Mug from Pepsi-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc. Their wide distribution to supermarkets and sari-sari stores and pricing made them the most available, and hence most-popular. It can be found in many Filipino/oriental stores.

In Taiwan, the "HeySong Sarsi" (BlackPine Sarsaparilla) is also known as the "Coke of Taiwan". As it turns out, their bottle design always resembles the newest designs by Coca-Cola. It is bottled by the HeiSong Corporation in Taipei.[1]
The HeySong Sarsaparilla beverage is available in three variations:
- Regular - Regular Sarsi flavor.
- Sweety - Sweet and mellow, rather like A&W cream soda.
- Salty - Significantly more bite and aftertaste, like Barq's rootbeer.
