Schaumburg-Lippe was a small state in Germany, in the present day state of Lower Saxony, with its capital at Bückeburg. Schaumburg-Lippe was a county until 1807 when it became a principality, which lasted until the end of the German monarchies in 1918, when it became a republic and was renamed Free State of Schaumburg-Lippe. Schaumburg-Lippe had an area of 340 km² and a population of 44,992 in 1905.
