Schurr High School is a secondary school in the Montebello Unified School District, located at 820 North Wilcox Avenue, Montebello, California, 90640. Students attending this school live in the Montebello-Monterey Park area.

- The school was previously a junior high school. Because of the growing population of students in the area, the school became a high school in 1971.
- The school colors are officially green and white. Contrary to popular belief, gold is an accent color, not a school color.
- The school's official theme song is originally "Schurr No. 1". However, Barry Ulrich's "Taco Mambo" is the unofficial theme song and was used for years instead of "Schurr No. 1" The band revived the official fight song 2002.[citation needed]

- The Mighty Spartan Marching Band has been an award winning band for well over 20 years.
- In 2005, the Band attended SCSBOA Field Band Championships for the first time in the school's history.[citation needed]

Schurr High School was originally built to accommodate 1,700 students. Today, Schurr's population is nearly doubled - 3,352 students. Of those 3,352 students, 902 are freshman. School officials expect more students to enroll throughout the school year. In the 2005-2006 school year, Schurr's population totaled 3,388. Due to overpopulation, school officials brought back two lunches for the 2005-2006 school year.

Many of the faculty members are alumni of Schurr, including former principal Arthur Sanchez. Sanchez was replaced by Art Revueltas in July of 2006.

The Department of Education reported Schurr High School's Academic Performance Index (API) rose 47 points in 2005 from 630 to 677 in the 2004-2005 school year. In the following year, the API rose 9 points, totaling to 686. Although it was not large improvement, Schurr High School has the highest API in the Montebello Unified School District - Montebello High School, 645, and Bell Gardens High School, 610

Schurr High School is now known as one of the top 1000 public schools in the nation, as according to Newsweek Magazine. Information is based on AP exams taken and passed.[citation needed]

- Schurr also has been known to have a strong football and wrestling program throughout the past many years including the CIF Football Championship in 1980. The football team recently won the CIF Football Championship again, beating Santa Fe High School Chiefs 40-22 on December 8th, 2006 at Cal State Fullerton.
- Class of 1992 ( season 1991, included several of Jr's and Somphores) lost to Esperaza Aztec's in the semi -finals whom had a 26 game winning streak(undefeated previous yr ,14-0, plus 12-0 , that yr) prior to playing Schurr's football team whom had a shocking record of 10-2. Schurr's main disadvantage was they had a majority of two ways starter's while Esperaza Aztec's had a majority of one way starter's, which fatigued Schurr's football players during the second half. Schurr held a surprizing 12- 6 point lag during the first half, the final score was 49-12. Schurr's first loss was to Montebello high school 35-12(1st games), but when Ken Davis Changed his plays around, Schurr's football team almost had an 11 game winning streak but lost to Hart High school by one point(during the 8th game), 31-30, after the officials call back three touchdowns, two( or 1) of which Schurr never regained( Schurr players still consider it a win) .Schurr finished an impressive record of 10-3, winning over 10 high schools whom were bigger than Schurr, a team that wasn't even expected to make it into the playoffs. Schurr's 3 time at least reaching the semifinals in 20 years.

- Bob Logan (Class of 1973, Schurr's first graduating class) is the writer and directing of many comedy feature films, including the cult "Exorcist" spoof "Repossessed" starring Leslie Nielson and Linda Blair, and "Meatballs 4" starring Corey Feldman. Previous to that he had written, produced and directed many network TV programs, and also wrote for comedians such as Garry Shandling, Joan Rivers, Rodney Dangerfield and Sam Kinison among many others. Currently, he is working on a feature film version of the classic 1960s ABC comedy-western TV series "F TROOP."
- Ada Maris Class of 1975, Movie and Television actress.
- Catherine J. K. Sandoval[1], first Latina Rhodes Scholar (Master's degree in Politics at Oxford University in Oxford, England), graduated magna cum laude from Yale University and J.D. from Stanford Law School. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Law at Santa Clara University.
- Sergio Mora, class of 1997, won the television boxing show, The Contender.
