Timothy Scott Baker is a starting pitcher for the Rochester Red Wings. He made his major league debut in May 2005 with the Minnesota Twins as a middle reliever during a three-game sweep of Tampa Bay and had two starts in Los Angeles and Detroit before being permanently placed on the pitching rotation at the end of August 2005 to replace struggling pitcher Joe Mays, who was demoted to the Twins bullpen. He won in his first start on August 29, 2005 against Kansas City, 3-2. He won the fifth starter role for the 2006 Twins over teammate Francisco Liriano. Baker's pitching struggles in the beginning of the 2006 season resulted in Baker being demoted to Rochester, however he was recalled in September 2006. He is due to start the 2007 season again in Rochester.
Baker played his college baseball at Oklahoma State University after a stellar high school career at Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport, Louisiana.
