The Scout Movement in Hampshire is part of the United Kingdom Scout Association.
It is a large county and has 27 districts! The districts are Andover, Basingstoke East, Basingstoke West, Blackwater Valley, Bramshill, Chandlers Ford, City of Portsmouth, Eastleigh and District, Fareham East, Fareham West, Gosport, Havant, Itchen North, Itchen South, Meon Valley, New Forest East, New Forest North, New Forest South, New Forest West, Odiham, Petersfield, Romsey, Rotherfield, Silchester, Southampton City, Waterlooville and Winchester

[edit] 4th New Forest North (Eling) Sea Scouts
4th New Forest North (Eling) Sea Scouts, is a Royal Navy recognised Sea Scout troop, of which there are 101 and 4th Eling are no.99.
Based in Eling, Hampshire, England the Group has active Beaver, Cub and Scout sections. There are two scout troops within the Group, Warrior Troop (named after HMS Warrior in Portsmouth) and Ambuscade troop (Dormant, after the Frigate's HMS Ambuscade). The current head-quarters are in Totton, they are currently raising money in order to build a new 'hut' alongside Testwood Lakes, giving easy access to water for activities.
[edit] The Donkey Derby
Every year the troop holds the 'Donkey Derby' in which smaller scouts, cubs and beavers race on the back of a donkey. Sponsoring money goes towards the troop fund for maintenance of boats, the hut, trips and the construction of the new building. Other activities are held alongside the races to help with the total. The last donkey derby (3rd June 2006) was opened by BBC South Today's weather girl, Alina Jenkins.
[edit] HMS Bristol & HMS Raleigh
Being a Royal Navy Recognised troop, 4th Eling have the privilege of being allowed to make trips to HMS Bristol, for Camps and the annual Sea Scout summer camp.
They are also entitled to take part in the annual sea scout swimming galas held on board HMS Raleigh.
