Sergio Batista

Sergio Daniel Batista (born 1962-11-09 in Buenos Aires) is a former football (soccer) defender from Argentina.
Nicknamed El Checho, he started playing in the youth system of Argentinos Juniors, with whom would later win the Metropolitano and the Copa Libertadores in 1985. With the Argentina national football team he won the 1986 FIFA World Cup, and obtained the second place in 1990, always wearing the jersey number 2.
He is currently the assistant coach of Argentine Primera division club San Lorenzo.
