Seward Township occupies the 6 mile square in Kendall County, Illinois.
It is located at 41.502980 N, -88.304570 W. It has 90.5323 square km (34.955 square miles) of land and 502,684 square meters (0.194 square miles) covered by water. Its population in the 2000 Census was 846. It has 288 housing units.

The township is governed by an elected Town Board of a Supervisor and four Trustees. The Township also has an elected Assessor, Clerk, and Highway Commissioner. The Township Office is located at .
