Sha'ar HaGolan

Sha'ar HaGolan (Hebrew: שער הגולן, Gate of the Golan) is a Kibbutz located at the foot of the Golan Heights in the Jordan Valley area of north-eastern Israel, less than 1 km from the border with Jordan.
Sha'ar HaGolan was founded on March 21, 1937 by members of the Hashomer Hatzair youth movement. Origins of the founders are Czechoslovakia and Poland. The founders met and were organized as a team in 1930 in Rishon LeZion, Israel and were called "Ein Hakore" until 1937, when they settled in the current location.
The main source of income is the Golan Plastic Products pex pipes Manufacturer factory. Other sources include agriculture (Bananas, Milking cows, Avocado, Water Melons) and tourism (El Mul Golan). Sha'ar HaGolan has a museum with pre-historic Neolithic findings uncovered on the banks of the Yarmuk River. The museum is located near the swimming pool.
