Shamrock (Molly Fitzgerald) is the code name of a mutant superheroine in the Marvel Comics universe.

[edit] Fictional character biography
Molly Fitzgerald's father was a fanatically militant Irish nationalist. When she was three years old, her father called out to the heavens to grant her brother Paddy the power to strike down his enemies, but there appeared to be no effect. Not until Molly's freshman year in college did she discover that she had obtained mutant powers, a protective aura that altered probability around her and she became the costumed hero Shamrock.
Later she was teleported away by the Grandmaster, along with hundreds of other heroes of Earth, so that the Grandmaster and Death could choose champions from among them. While the heroes mingled, Shamrock encountered Captain Britain and the two took an immediate dislike to each other because of their countries' histories. Shamrock was chosen to serve on Death's team.
Her brother was later killed, which led to an attempted reconciliation with her father. However, he then drugged her and handed her over to the supervillain Arnim Zola, who wished to analyse and duplicate her powers. Shamrock defeated Zola, but her father then tried to shoot her - but her powers caused his gun to explode in his hand, killing him.
Shamrock retired from being a superhero when her luck ran out (her power ceased to function), as demonstrated by her slipping and breaking her leg. Shamrock was last seen as Kitty and Rahne's hairstylist in Excalibur #108. It is not known if Shamrock retained her mutant powers after the M-Day.

Shamrock's mutant power manipulates probabilities to her advantage for approximately 20-feet around her, causing good luck for her and bad luck for her opponents. Supposedly this is the effect of the souls of thousands of victims of war behaving as poltergeists.
